- Who invented SMS?
- There were several versions in the press in the past. The GSM/SMG leadership and involved persons reviewed the situation in 2009. They came to the unanimous conclusion, that the initial SMS concept was developed in the Franco-German co-operation for GSM in 1984 and introduced into standardization in February 1985. They clarified also the contributions of standardization and issued a statement.
